How is the date difference calculated?

The calculator compares dates year-by-year, month-by-month, and day-by-day. If the end day is earlier than the start day, it borrows from the previous month using that month's actual length.

Why is my result different from Excel?

Excel's DATEDIF function can produce different results for end-of-month dates (e.g., Jan 31 to Feb 28). Our calculator uses calendar-aware math that matches how humans naturally count dates.

Should I include the end date?

When enabled, the end date is included in the count. This is useful for inclusive calculations like countdowns or date spans where both dates count.

How are leap years handled?

Leap years (divisible by 4, except centuries not divisible by 400) are correctly handled. February 29 is counted in leap years.

Why do months have different lengths?

Months vary from 28 to 31 days. The calculator uses actual calendar boundaries, not a fixed 30-day average.

How are business days calculated?

Business days count Monday through Friday. Weekends (Saturday and Sunday) are excluded. Holidays are not currently deducted.
