How this display works
Every design is a structurally different composition, not just another color. Switch with arrow keys or swipe, open Settings for seconds, time format and the text-color palette, and press F for fullscreen. When a mobile browser blocks native fullscreen, Desmarto opens the same design in an immersive browser view instead. Choices are stored only on this device.

All displaysWhat is Flip Clock?
Four split-flap compositions — graphite mechanics and pale Scandinavian ceramics — with real panel structure.
Flip Clock recreates the split-panel look of mechanical station clocks as honest, structured panels with seams, hinges and housings. Digits change with the same calm rhythm as the original objects, in two wide and two compact designs.
Best for
- A retro-leaning desk setup
- A reception or shared-space display that should read as an object
- Anyone who wants large segmented numerals without decoration noise
How to use it
- Open the page; the flip panels show the current time immediately.
- Switch between the four housings with arrow keys or swipe.
- Toggle seconds in Settings if you want the meta row to show them.
- Fullscreen for the full object effect.
Devices
Reads well everywhere; the wide scenes suit landscape monitors and TVs, the compact scenes suit smaller tablets and nightstands.
Customization
Seconds, 12/24-hour, Light/Dark per scene, favorite design. Fixed composition — no custom photo backgrounds. Flip panels keep their material finish.
Fullscreen behavior
Fullscreen turns the housing into a room object. Escape or the exit control returns you to this page.
Honest limitations
Flip scenes keep a fixed composition by design: no custom backgrounds and no extra metadata beyond date, seconds and timezone label.
Frequently asked questions
Do the panels animate like a real flip clock?
Digits update in place with the panel structure intact. With reduced-motion enabled, transitions drop to instant, respectful updates.
Why no custom background?
The housing is the identity of a flip clock — placing a photo behind it would read as a poster, not an object. The four materials are the customization.
Can I get seconds?
Yes — enable Seconds in Settings and the meta row carries a live seconds readout.
Light or dark for a bright office?
Scandinavian Wide or Compact — pale ceramic housings that hold contrast in daylight.
