Formula
Net Hours = Gross Hours − Unpaid Break Time
Your total net working hours equal the time between clock in and clock out, minus any unpaid break durations. Paid breaks count as working time.

Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between paid and unpaid breaks?
Paid breaks count toward your working hours and are included in net hours. Unpaid breaks are deducted from gross hours to calculate net hours.
Can I add multiple breaks?
Yes. Click 'Add Break' to add as many breaks as needed. Each break tracks start time, duration, and whether it's paid.
What if a break is outside my work hours?
The calculator validates that break start times fall within your work period. If a break is outside work hours, you'll see a validation error.
Can I use AM/PM format?
Yes. The parser accepts both 12-hour and 24-hour formats. The format toggle only controls how results are displayed.
What duration formats are accepted for breaks?
You can enter '30m', '0.5h', '30 minutes', or '0:30'. All formats are automatically parsed.
